The Comant CI 105-6 DME / Transponder Antenna is an externally mounted L-band antenna designed to support distance measuring equipment (DME) and aircraft transponder systems. It offers operating characteristics identical to the Comant CI 105, with the addition of a four-hole mounting flange commonly used on turboprop and jet aircraft.
The antenna covers the standard DME and transponder frequency ranges, supporting 960–1220 MHz for DME operation and 1030–1090 MHz for transponder and Mode S applications. It features a BNC connector and 50-ohm impedance, ensuring compatibility with standard aircraft RF cabling and avionics equipment.
Encased in a glass-reinforced polyester molded shell, the CI 105-6 is designed for durability in demanding aircraft environments. It is rated for operation at true airspeeds up to 400 knots at 25,000 feet and supports peak RF power levels of up to 2.5 kW. When installed in accordance with applicable aircraft approval data and Comant installation instructions, it provides reliable RF performance for certified aircraft installations.
